SEYDOU DIABATÉ DIT KANAZOÉ

Seydou Diabate dit « Kanazoé » est reconnu par ses pairs à travers toute l’Afrique mandingue comme le jeune génie du balafon, tant pour ses prouesses techniques, que sa créativité et sa musicalité !

Il né au Burkina Faso, dans le village Sambla de Toronso. Les Sambla ne se contentent pas de jouer du balafon, ils parlent avec cet instrument et dès l’âge de cinq ans son père le forme et le prend avec lui pour animer les cérémonies traditionnelles ou encourager les travailleurs aux champs. Orphelin avant d’avoir 10 ans il part à Bobo Dioulasso où il accompagnera son oncle jusqu’à avoir l’expérience nécessaire pour devenir Balafon solo. A force de travail, son balafon et sa musique l’emmènent en France au début des années 2010 où il crée le groupe Kanazoé Orkestra.

Seydou Diabate known as « Kanazoé » is recognized by his peers throughout Mandinka Africa as the young genius of the balafon, as much for his technical prowess as his creativity and musicality !

He was born in Burkina Faso, in the Sambla village of Toronso. The Sambla do not just play the Balafon, they speak with this instrument and from the age of five his father trained him and took him with him to lead traditional ceremonies or encourage workers in the fields. Orphaned before he was 10, he left for Bobo Dioulasso where he accompanied his uncle until he had the necessary experience to become a solo balafon. His hard work and his music took him to France in the early 2010s where he created the band Kanazoé Orkestra.
